K9 Arak is a  76 pound, 5 1/2 year old male, black and sable  German Shepherd, starting with the department in October 2003. He was born and trained in Holland. Arak is SCPK9 Certified in Obedience, Narcotics Detection, Tracking, Patrol Work, Buildings Searches and Article Searches. 

Pfc. Humphries and K9 Arak placed 2nd in Narcotics and 3rd in Patrol at the 2006 Low Country Top Dog Competition.

The best thing Arak loves about his job is riding in the car and seeing how many laps he can complete around the car kennel during a single shift. Arak also loves to find drugs. Arak knows when it's time for him to go to work and likes anything the shift can throw at him. When at home, Arak likes to play with the Shih-Tzu, "Zoe."
